More refinement on deisgns

After looking and considering the square block of colour in my designs, and making them more of a border. The realisation that certain things wasnt working. it all came down to the designs being more complicated, so I ruled out the strips under the design and the border effect and thought of others ideas . While looking at them together, I though why not put the strip on top of the design, just in the same way the square does. But in this case it shouldnt take away the effectiveness of the design and the exciting feel the cards gives.

I then tried this with on of the cards deigns.

I think this the step in the right direction. It still has the strip and still has the same design, but the strip is on top instead of underneath. Obviously making ethe strip stand out more, and also making the appliqué start out from the card more. It’s still framing the applique, but in a different way. I think this is more professional than the square effect because of those reasons, and also because you don’t lose the detail of the whole design. But yet still taking enough design away to make the design less busy and complicated.
