Today we visited the botanical gardens, (the garden of Wales). As a class we set up an exhibition their using the pieces we made, in our field project, up cycling denim. It was a great experience for use to put up our work in a space with was unfamiliar to us, and to think of the exhibition as a whole group and making sure it was perfectly presentable. It was really successful as we all worked as a term to make sure all our individual piece where angled and places in the the best way possible and creating a profession looking exhibition.
It was the first time i had put my work up in a public place, giving great experience and teaching for the next few years and the future. it was also a great opportunity for use to start thinking about our second year ‘making connections’. By doing the exhibition, and interacting with the outside world, and having contacts in order to have exhibitions in public places. It also gave us a chance to get primary research from the gardens themselves. I collected and took a great variety of pictures, in order to find inspiration and ideas.
I always love visiting the gardens as it such a great pace to find flowers and inspiration from plants that we don’t normally see around here. I know have some decent images to maybe use and start experimenting with over the summer and into next year.
