Print Workshop 3

This week printing, due to the fact that the machine wasn’t working last week we are behind on techniques, and maybe rushing it. However i seem to enjoy it more when we just get it done, and so how they come beautiful.

Our first technique was using a glue though the screen print not the fabric, then using the hot press with interesting fabrics like felt and shiny metallic paper. It was a great technique which gave a very professional finish. Ioved the heat press the first time we used it, but this time felt like it was more technical and refined.

Our next technique was using a different paint/glue, which raised once added with steam.

It was the best technique so far, it was a amazing how it rose up once i put the iron too it. I was too excited and forgot to take a picture of what it looked like after i had put the glue on. I think it is a great technique and i will definitely use it again, maybe with a bit of colour. However i love the simple white it naturally created.

It was such a great classroom environment in the print room, everyones helping each other and giving ideas. Its a great way for us to get to know each other rather than being stuck at our desks working.

That was our last Tuesday workshop for a while, as next week we have collaborative workshops, which I’m very nervous about, but i can’t wait to write about what iv learnt and how i want to go further.
